Soccer Players Association

President’s Challenge

Presented as part of the popular "US President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports" challenge programs traditionally conducted in elementary schools, which test student’s physical fitness levels.

The Soccer Players Association is an official group member of the President’s Challenge program, and has developed a special "soccer-specific" program. The program awards players for participation in a healthy lifestyle, namely for practicing and playing soccer!

Players create their own personalized online log book at a special group membership page at the President’s Challenge web site. Every time a player practices or plays soccer (by themselves or with friends or with their team) they record the amount of time they played into their log book. For every hour they record in their log book they receive "points". Once a player achieves a certain minimum amount of points, they are eligible for awards!

There are three levels of awards based on the points earned, bronze (20,000 points) Silver (40,000 points) and Gold (80,000 points).

The Association recommends that players ages 7 and under achieve the Bronze level, players ages 8-10 achieve the Silver level, and players ages 11 and over achieve the Gold level. However, these are only recommendations. Any player that achieves a Bronze level will have met their requirement to be considered eligible to receive their Achievement Awards Recognition (see below)

Players receive approx 400-600 points for every hour spent practicing or playing.

Up to 25 of the 50 Hours spent in the "Soccer Skills Challenge" are transferable into the President’s Challenge Program
