Soccer Skills Challenge
- The Soccer Skills Challenge helps players develop fundamental soccer skills including:
Passing • Shooting • Dribbling • Ball Control • Juggling
- Players learn how to perform these skills by reviewing basic techniques which are described and illustrated using key coaching points, video and other animated demonstrations.
- Once players have learned the skills, they practice these skills on their own, or with a partner or a group / team.
- Sample drills that players can use in small groups or as part of team practices are provided as part of recommended practice plans.
- There are both individual player, and team / group practice plans available (creating a turn-key system for players / instructors to follow)
- Players are encouraged to practice a little each day, and are required to log their practice times into their own personal log book.
- There is a minimum practice requirement of 10 hours per each skill or 50 hours total for all 5 skills prior to receiving awards
- Players can log an unlimited amount of time into their log book, but, there is a daily cap of 1 hour for all skills that can be applied in any day towards the minimum time requirement. (Meaning it would take a minimum of 50 days to complete if a player practiced an hour a day, every day)
- Players can go back up to 20 days prior to the current date to record their practice times.
- Players must complete a Soccer Skills Challenge Test for each of the 5 skills prior to receiving awards
- There are two levels of Soccer Skills Challenge Tests:
- Star (recommended for beginners of any age or experienced players, ages 8 and below)
- Superstar (recommended for intermediate level experienced players, ages 9 and up)
- Players can complete one or both levels of the Soccer Skills Challenge Test
- Once players meet time requirements and pass the Soccer Skills Challenge Tests, they are eligible to receive cool awards!
